This one-of-a-kind sari tote bag is made from upcycled sari fabric. While each bag is unique, all of them feature a screen printed message of empowerment

Good Things:

Shakti.ism is a not-for-profit social enterprise on a mission to empower and employ women from marginalised communities, and especially those at risk of being impacted by gender-based violence
They currently work with women in India, Bangladesh and Nepal
Shakti.ism aims to preserve local skills and traditions, and to empower women by providing meaningful and stable employment along with fair living wages
Products are created from upcycled sari fabrics, turned into beautiful products that are unique, zero waste and socially impactful
The bags are printed with natural inks

This unique and empowering tote bag helps provide economic independence to women artisans in India. Each design is different, depending on the sari used to create the bag. You will be sent a design at random, which will be unique to you!

Your bag is handmade by women in Pondicherry, India. Making these products helps them and their families with employment, a living wage, hope and opportunities for their children.

What you get:

Each tote bag measures 38cm high x 34cm across and has a 35cm handle created from sari fabric. Every bag has a hanging inner side pocket.

Each of these bags is created with upcycled sari fabric, and every one is unique! Designs vary, as shown in the images.

Washing instructions: gently hand wash in cold water. Hang or lay flat to air dry.
